Potterverse Tarot by J. ODell

I thought I would post here since jodel_from_aol's comment is unlikely to be seen by many, given that this fest ended a while ago. Some of you may remember waaay back in the discussions of the first hp_tarot fest (2008?) that something called The Potterverse Tarot was mentioned and linked to. At the time it the deck was unfinished.

Well now it's finished. And it's gorgeous. Have a look:

Nifty, eh?

HP Tarot Awards Announcement! Here are the winners!

Thank you all for being so patient! It's time to reveal the HP Tarot Round Four Awards! Thank you to all who nominated and of course to all who participated and made it such a fantastic fest.

Each award is listed below the cut, with the "big" awards, for favorite fic, favorite art, and top commenter at the bottom! Winners, please grab your banners and post them in your journals!

We had a lot of nominations. Many pieces were nominated for more than one possible award. In those cases I usually picked one, but I'll list some of the others. And the voting for favorite fic and art was very close, with a few contenders in each category!

Awards results coming soon...

Sorry for the slowness on my end, folks -- day job deadlines have been kicking my proverbial butt this month. But I will have all the awards tallied up soon!

Meanwhile, if there's anyone handy with graphics who would like to make the awards banners out there, let me know? I'll give you the names and categories in a list.

Tarot fest award nominations please!

Awards nominations!

As I mentioned in an earlier post, at HP Tarot we always have awards. But these aren't just for the single best entry. You can nominate in ANY category you can think of! Bitterest Snape? Best use of colour? Most awesome use of symbolism? Most Epic Misuse of a Potion? Whatever you wish to praise, please do.

To nominate an entry for an award, please comment on this post (comments are screened) or email me directly at ravenna_c_tan at with your nominations. You may nominate as many entries as you like in as many categories as you like! The only rule is you may not nominate your own fic or art.

The awards will be in the form of banners one can post in one's user profile and journal, and every winner will also get their choice of one of the Magic University ebooks (a Tarot-themed erotic romance fantasy series by yours truly and published by Ravenous Romance).

And then we have the three big awards!
Favorite Art
Favorite Fic
Top Commenter

Even if you do not submit a nomination to a category of your own creation, please do vote for your favorites in these three "big" categories! Winners in these three will win a banner proclaiming their awesomeness and also their choice of the whole set of Magic U ebooks (4 novels & one anthology) or an autographed paperback of book one, The Siren & The Sword.

All votes and nominations must be posted or received in email by midnight Eastern USA time on October 1st.

Have fun! Use the master list for easy reference to all 16 fics and 17 pieces of art entered into this round!

Remember, all comments are screened, and anonymous comments are allowed, too.

Round Four, Master List!

And here it is, the master list of all fic and art from Round Four of the Potterverse Tarot Fest. We had 16 fics and 17 pieces of art this time around.

A couple of fun trends and fest facts:
• Not a single artist had to drop out of the fest! You guys rock! (and only 2 writers went AWOL)

• Most popular character was Draco Malfoy with 8 appearances in art or as a main character. Snape is next at 7, and Harry has 6.

• All total 21 canon characters are represented as main characters including Lavender Brown, Luna Lovegood, Evan Rosier, and many others.

• This round had no smutty bits! Strange, I know. Even my own fic was PG.

•This round seemed to have a large number of fics that served as character studies, recapping a character's memories or exploring their psyche. Some were secondary characters like Rosier and Lavender, others familiar like Draco and Snape.

• This was the first round of the fest we've had since the canon "closed."

And here it is, the round up of Week Four, the end of the fest!

Best use of colour? Most awesome use of symbolism? Whatever you wish to praise, please do. For now, just be thinking about it, and don't forget to comment on the entries below!)
